Truly

sweetly you glide across the neck
your fingers
pressing brass and wood
like bones on throat
sliding with confidence and ease
on tiny shimmering steel

You draw me into a world beyond the body
Truly

me, the one who weaves her words
and longs for the equivalent
am lost between tones and strings
and touches of your fingers
that drone down in my belly
without ever touching

You draw me into a world beyond the heart
Truly

this good-bye is eucharist
not without sacrifice
and the miracle
that rises like the aurora borealis
Give in to wonder, let it be!
all is joy
all is hope
all is resonance in the soul of God

Something holy lives
because of who you are

For Terrythe three of us
